3rd October 2003 - Dream Photo Opportunity
An EMRPS photo charter to coincide with the Barrow Hill 'First Born' Diesel Gala, and a dream opportunity to capture the prototype 'Deltic' on film in a realistic scenario. This realised a dream for me, and my photos of 'Deltic' basking in the sun and under the floodlights at Barrow Hill are among my favourites in my photographic collection. That said, the other locos involved in this charter cannot be overlooked especially 40013, which looked just like it did in BR days.

5th October 2003 - Thunderbirds are Go!
I was still coming down off a high after photographing the prototype 'Deltic' when the gen for this one came through. A 90 had failed at Northampton and 57303 was going to the rescue. A quick dash over to Tamworth secured the shot.

17th/18th October 2003 - Pairs of Tractors and Other Bits
Friday afternoon saw a move to Easenhall for the 37's on 4Z44, followed by a quick dash over to Kibworth for 47773 on a rake of redundant EMU stock. The Saturday saw a spin and win tour passing through the Midlands, and this tour was chased resulting in photos of 37375+37707, 56083 and 47316+47200.

23rd October 2003 - Worksop Cannons
An evening move to Worksop for a night shot of 37712 on the water cannon train from Healey Mills.

24th October 2003 - Load Haul Grid and a Royal Skip
Work wasn't going very well at this time and I was down to a four day week, which meant I could go out photting on Fridays. I had gone out for 56107 on the Toton to Bescot and got an unexpected Royal Train bonus. This turned out to be the last Friday I would have free as I was made redundant the following Monday and ended up spending the following week job hunting!

26th October 2003 - Engineering Posession on the MML
Got the gen that two class 60's were in an engineer's posession at Rushton, so decided to take a look and came away with some reasonable shots.
