2nd May - Pre Charter Visit to Llangollen
Made a family trip to Llangollen, but I had another reason for being there - choosing wagons for the following weekend's photo charter with 46010. I didn't take many photos during this visit, but could not resist this reflection shot of the 46 on shed.

6th May 2004 - Kettle Move
B1 61264 was moved from Norwich to Carnforth and was accompanied by 37057.

9th May 2004 - Llangollen Photo Charter
An EMRPS photo charter with 46010 at the Llangollen Railway. Weather was crap for most of the day, but it did half heartedly clear out towards the end of the day. As always, the Llangollen Diesel lads put on a great show for us, and we all enjoyed the day despite the weather.

15th May 2004 - Welsh Marches Specials
Three loco hauled passenger trains down the Marches were captured in sun at Wistanstow, then returned to Thurmaston for a southbound special hauled by 47703 but failed with the sun - as is often the case, the HST in front of it was in full sun!

16th May 2004 - Great Central and Chasewater
D1705 was out on the GCR goods in the morning, and then it was over to Chasewater for an evening photo charter with visiting Beattie Well Tank 30587.

18th May 2004 - Should have been a Tractor
Made a mad dash over to Langford for 7L84 as there was a tractor allocated to it. I was 10 minutes away from the location when I discovered that the tractor had been ripped in favour of a 60. Oh well, as I was nearly in position I completed the move by reaching the location and taking the photo.

22nd-23rd May 2004 - Nuneaton Shuttles and a Lucky Wrong Turn!
Due to numerous line closures, the Nuneaton drags became Nuneaton to Birmingham shuttles with locos in top and tail formation. In addition to this, 40145 worked a Crewe to Plymouth railtour which I photographed at Ashchurch after missing the turning for Besford. I found out later that the sun dipped at Besford, so missing the turning turned out to be a stroke of luck.
