This shot was lit by myself as a request from another photographer. I would never normally light a shot like this as I think it looks crap. The idea was to silhouette the front of the loco, but you cannot successfully silhouette your subject when there is also a dark background. The area below the middle of the smokebox has become lost in the shot as a consequence. The only way you could get a better silhouette was to lie on the floor and use a wide angle lens, and I wasn't going to waste my time doing that. At least the sky looks nice!
