3rd February 2007 - A Kettle, a Spoon and a Photo Charter
I did the Stanier Mogul on the 1015 off Loughborough Central and then made a mega quick dash to Rearsby for 47853 on a Kings Cross to Buxton charter, making it with about 2 minutes to spare! Then it was off to the Midland Railway Centre for a night shoot with 37314 and D212 and a few special guest stars thrown in.
The photo charter was a night shoot to raise money towards the purchase of new batteries for D212. A big thank you to all the photographers who participated, and to the volunteers of the Class 40 Appeal and the Class 20 Locomotive Society who worked so hard to make the event go smoothly. An extra mention must go to the Class 20 Locomotive Society lads who had to work extra hard after 37314 decided it didn't want to play. As usual, a massive thank you to the EMRPS lighting crew for yet another top job.

17th February 2007 - The Red Mist Descends
Watching the gen on Friday night, it became apparent that Saturday's tour from Bristol Temple Meads featuring class 37 haulage would see 37425 and 37411 resurrected from store. With a non too brilliant weather forecast for Saturday, my thoughts turned to a night shot of the train before it left Bristol. Then some further gen came through that a third class 37, 37422, was to bring the empty stock into Bristol from Old Oak Common. The red mist had by now descended and the alarm clock was set for 0230! After a good run down to Bristol, we arrived to find 37425 and 37411 parked under the roof in the centre roads and by 0453 the first shot was in the can. 37422 then arrived with the ECS and pulled up crap, but the fact that it went right to the end of the platform meant that 37425 and 411 would be in a good spot when they dropped on the other end. After nailing the pair on the stock and watching the departure, we set off and beat them to the Lickey where there was not much light, and then on to Washwood Heath where we managed a shot in hazy sunshine. The rest of the day then went downhill after that as the weather completely collapsed. At least with a mix of night shots, sunny shots and poorly lit shots, it gave me the opportunity to put my new Nikon D80 through it's paces.

24th February 2007 - Nene Valley Grid and Crompton Charter
An EMRPS photo charter at the Nene Valley Railway with visiting locos 56098 and 33065. The day shoot was marred by bad weather, but we did manage to get three shots in sun during the day. The night shoot yielded much more in terms of results and also featured 56057 and 56003 along with 56098 and 33065. This enabled us to do a line up of three 56's side by side - a first in preservation. A massive thanks to the volunteers of the NVR, especially Neil Boden and his team who nursed a rather reluctant 56098 through the day and helped keep things running smoothly. A massive thanks also goes to the participating photographers and the EMRPS lighting crew for yet another top job. The money raised by this event went towards the cost of bringing 56098 and 33065 to the railway.
