2nd June 2007 - Daresbury
and Blackpool
After driving up to Daresbury near Warrington
to photograph 40145 on a railtour, I was left with a decision to make about what
to do after the 40 had passed. A weather front coming in from the west put me
off chasing the 40 to Aberystwyth, and a lack of interesting movements in the
Warrington area led me to spend the rest of the day in Blackpool photographing
trams. The weather
front was trying to force it's way in all day, and some of the shots taken
around the middle of the day were in hazy light, but somehow, the sun kept finding
little holes throughout the day and I managed to finish off the day with a
couple of fully lit shots of 700 at Cleveleys.
9th and 10th June 2007 -
Crich Tramway Museum
The Saturday was just a normal running day,
but the Sunday was the annual 'Tramathon' event when as many trams as possible
were out running. Both days were very enjoyable, though the lack of sun on the
Sunday until late afternoon was very disappointing.
20th June 2007 - St Denys
Staying in Southampton on a work related
training course, I decided to take an early morning look at a bit of railway
action at St Denys. The shot has become somewhat overgrown and is not as good as
it used to be.
24th June 2007 - Blackpool,
Totally Transport 2007
A day in Blackpool for the Totally Transport
event. The day began cloudy, but by early afternoon the skies broke, and we were
rewarded with quite a few sunny shots. As well as the normal Fleetwood and
Cleveleys services, there were many specials running using several members of
the vintage fleet.
27th June 2007 - Evening
Photo Charter at the GCR
An evening with class 47 D1705 at the Great
Central Railway. A top evening with some absolutely 'banging' light. Many thanks
to the participating photographers, the train crew (who were excellent) and to
the GCR staff for what turned out to be a wonderful little photo charter.
