3rd January 2008 - International Painted Dildos
I went to Birmingham International in the hope of capturing a night shot of 47847 on a mail, but that flew straight through without stopping, so all I got were some Virgin Pendolinos.

5th January 2008 - Nottingham Trams
I've wanted to do some night shots of Nottingham Trams for some time now. As I'm not brave enough to mix it with the clubbers and pubbers during an evening, I decided a mid winter early morning photographing session would be much safer. It was well worth making the effort as I was very happy with the photographs that I came away with, especially those taken around the Old Market Square.

11th January 2008 - Mixed Blessings at Grantham
I went over to Grantham for a night shot of 86101 on the Hull Trains diagram. However, about 15 minutes before it was due, a northbound 91 failed in platform 2 and cocked up the planned shot. Although I did get something of the 86, it wasn't the shot I wanted, and I have had to do a lot of work to the photo to remove hexagons caused by rain on the lens and also to remove a red reflection from the side of the 86 from the DVT's tail lights. The failed 91 eventually had to be moved, and 67002 came down from Doncaster to take the errant set to Bounds Green. The 67 was posed quite nicely for a phot so I went home reasonable happy despite not getting what I went for.

19th January 2008 - Llangollen Photo Charter
An EMRPS photo charter at the Llangollen Railway. This was a night shoot with class 25 25313 and class 108 DMU 54490 and 51907. Despite the rain trying it's best to ruin the evening, the photographers battled against the elements and we all got some good shots. The 25 featured on a short freight, but we also took the opportunity to recreate a DMU drag by posing it coupled up to the 108. The DMU was also posed on it's own at each end of the station.
A big thanks to the participating photographers for their support and to the EMRPS lighting crew for another top job. A big thanks also to the Llangollen Diesel Group, Llangollen DMU Group and the volunteers and staff of the Llangollen Railway for helping make this photo shoot possible.

26th January 2008 - More Nottingham Trams, a Tractor, a Tug and a Can
I started the day with another session of dawn shots of the Nottingham Trams. I then went over to North Staffs Jcn for a Serco working and also managed to pull in 60009 on 6M57. Finally, in the evening, I made another attempt at capturing a night shot of 86101 at Grantham - this time without the offending failed 91!

27th January 2008 - ECML Can
This was the first chance I have had to have a go at some daylight shots of the superb 86101 working for Hull Trains. So it was quite pleasing to nail it in both directions in sun.
