February 2009 - Peppercorn A1 on Gamston Bank
A trip over to Eaton Lane near Retford for
newly built 'Peppercorn' A1 60163 on a Darlington to London Kings Cross railtour.
There was still a bit of snow on the ground, and thankfully the A1 came in sun
(just), and there was also the chance to photograph some regular ECML power
including a 91 facing south (which is fairly rare).

February 2009 - Night Shoot at Cheddleton
The Churnet Valley Railway staged their
Winter Steam Gala over the weekend of the 6th, 7th and 8th February, and on the
evening of the 7th, a night shoot was held in and around Cheddleton station and
loco shed. This was lit by the EMRPS lighting team, and as hardly anyone
attended (probably put off by the bitterly cold weather), it was possible to set
up several shots during the course of the evening. It also helped that we had a
shunt crew at our disposal who were extremely helpful. Big thanks to all at the
CVR and the few photographers who attended.

underground taken during a family day out to Liverpool.

A trip down to London. Plenty of variety and
the chance for my D300 to shine at high ISO under ground.

Local Bits
A cloudy start to the day meant I stayed at
home, but ventured out locally for 'Sir Nigel Gresley' on a railtour in the
afternoon when the clouds decided to break.
