5th March 2009 -
Blackpool
A trip to Blackpool, the main purpose of
which was to photograph Brush car 636 which has been fitted with an experimental
bogie and was on test between Pleasure Beach and Starr Gate. As well as 636, I
also managed a few shots of Centenary cars on the Pleasure Beach to Little
Bispham winter service, 761 and 719 on Blundell Street and 719 out on the prom
on test with a new set of trucks.
7th March 2009 -
London
A day in London to visit the London Transport
Museum Depot open day at Acton and have another crack at Clan Line on the VSOE.
I didn't manage anything of Clan Line, but I made a day of it down there and got
a fair few shots of other stuff.

GCR and Cossington
A few local shots from the GCR and from
Cossington.
15th March 2009 -
EMT Diverts
East Midlands Trains services diverted via
Melton Mowbray and Corby. I was hoping for a HST or two, but everything I
attempted to photograph was a class 222 'Meridian'.
21st March 2009 -
Scots Guardsman and Other Bits
A day dominated by 'Royal Scot' class 46115
'Scots Guardsman' which was working a Kings Lynn to Melton Mowbray private
charter. I was able to photograph the 'Scot' three times while also managing to
pull in a few shots of 60044 on the Kingsbury tanks. The day was rounded off
with a few shots at the GCR 1960's Gala, including a silhouette shot of the Q6
which I was rather pleased with.
23rd March 2009 -
S Stock
The live rails were switched on at the Old
Dalby test centre on this day, so I took a speculative drive up to Old Dalby to
see if the new London Underground 'S' stock train was visible. It was parked in
the shed waiting for the class 08 to couple up and take it back to Asfordby, so
I climbed up the bank and popped off a couple of shots (from the right side of
the fence I hasten to add!)
28th March 2009 -
37401
Spetchley near Worcester was the chosen
location for a photo of 37401 at the head of a Pathfinder tour from Nottingham
to South Wales.
29th March 2009 -
Steam at Chinley and 37401
A drive up to Chinley for a pair of steamers
on a mainline tour, then down to Barrow on Trent for 37401 on the ECS from the
railtour that it worked the previous day. No need for any fake sun this time
though!!!!
