October 2009 - Blackpool
The first day of a weekend in Blackpool. I
mostly concentrated on the Fleetwood end during the day, followed by a trip
through the lights in the evening. A very cold and windy day with some rain, but
it was quite sunny during the afternoon which allowed me to get quite a few
shots in the streets of Fleetwood. Heading down into Blackpool in the evening, I
only took one night shot and that was of the tram that took us through the
lights, twin set 675+685.

October 2009 - Blackpool
The second day of a weekend in Blackpool. A
much warmer day, so out came a couple of boat cars and the Replica Vanguard, so
on this day I concentrated on the prom section between Pleasure Beach and
Bispham.
10th
October 2009 - North Wales Tractor
37401 worked across to Holyhead on the
aluminium train, so I attempted to get a sunny shot of it. Anglesey was full
crud, but there was a blue hole at Penmaenbach, so I waited there only for it to
crap up just before it came. Next attempt was Hawarden which was nailed, so I
was very happy. But what's that in the next shot below - a Blackpool Tram?!
Well, let's just say I got lost on the way home!
11th
October 2009 - GCR Steam Gala
A quick visit to the GCR after lunch for a
couple of shots. I was hoping to get visiting locos WD 90733 and 9F 92203 and as
it turned out, these were the only two I got in sun. The WD was on a passenger,
and the 9F was on the windcutters. Thanks to the power of digital manipulation,
I have also included the 9F without 'Black Prince' nameplate and with the lead
brake van removed. This train formation has then also been used in the shot of
the WD so I have 90733 running as 90730 on the windcutters - all for a bit of
fun of course.

October 2009 - 31452
A couple of shots of a 1Q06 Derby RTC to
Ferme Park test train hauled by 31452 in it's new livery. Two shots, one at
Cossington and a chase shot at the Syston bypass plus a bonus Freightliner shed.

October 2009 - Choppers
I'm not a fan of dull photographs, but I took
these just for the record and they show 20227 and 20189 top and tailing a train
of new London Underground 'S' Stock at Bagworth on the Coalville branch.
22nd
October 2009 - Tram Driver Experience
I spent the day on a Blackpool Transport
'Tram Driver Experience course. It was a very enjoyable day which started with
about an hour in the classroom, followed by a quick tour of Rigby Road depot,
and then it was out on the tracks with Blackpool Standard 147. I drove the tram
from Fleetwood Ferry to Pleasure Beach, North Pier to Bispham and Pleasure Beach
to Bispham. Big thanks to Richard and Martin from BTS for making the day so
enjoyable.
25th
October 2009 - Blackpool Again!
A random Sunday in Blackpool. The weather
didn't exactly play ball during the day, with only a handful of sunny shots
being nailed, and sadly none of these were in the soon to be closed street
section in Fleetwood. I finished the day with some night shots at the Ferry and
at Rigby Road depot.
31st October 2009 -
Yet Another Trip to Blackpool!
At the end of the school half term week, this
turned out to be the busiest day of the year for Blackpool Trams with a tram
output of 41. Some more shots of Fleetwood were added to the collection, along
with several down in Blackpool, including the withdrawn and soon to be preserved
Brush car 634 which was pulled out of the depot for inspection by members of the
Rushden Transport museum. The day was rounded off by a night photting session at
North Pier, Pleasure Beach and Fleetwood Ferry.
