January 2010 - Sunday Variety
I started the day at Thurmaston for a
daylight transit move of the Structure Gauging Train. The disappointment of this
running DBSO leading was erased by 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' on the 1015 ex
Loughborough Central, and then it was off to Walcott for a crack at a couple of
67's on the Wrexhams and then back to the GCR for the shot of the day - 70013
'Oliver Cromwell' again, this time on the 1415 ex Loughborough. A pleasant day
and at least I have only had to wait until the 3rd of January for my first sunny
lineside of 2010.

January 2010 - North West Winter Wonderland
All week at work I have been staring out of
the window at the snow and the sunshine, and I have been just itching to get my
camera out in these rare conditions. Thankfully, the weather played ball long
enough for me to enjoy a Saturday in the North West of England with plenty of
snow and plenty of sunshine.
17th
January 2010 - Sunday Skips
Over to the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton line
for a couple of shots of 67's on the Wrexhams.

January 2010 - Scotrail Skoda
A short visit to Birmingham International for
Scotrail liveried 90024 on the Virgin West Coast loco hauled diagram. I was
nearly caught out by the 90 arriving in platform 2 northbound, and the
southbound wasn't as good as it could have been had the train travelled a few
more feet before stopping.
30th January 2010 - Rushden Photo Charter (and a few other
bits)
I started the day by going across to Washwood
Heath for my first shot of a Susan Boyle (class 70 - makes a nice noise but it's
a bit of a minger!), however, I was spared as the 70 got ripped for 66506. Then
I went to Barby Nortoft for 67013 and 90024. The sun dipped on the 67 (razzed up
shot included) and completely died on the 90 (not included). Not a good day so
far, but it was to end on a high with a very enjoyable photo charter at Rushden
Historical Transport Museum where we posed 31206 on an engineers train and a
couple of TPO's. Finally, and after most charter punters had gone home, a
familiar shape found it's way under the EMRPS floodlights - Blackpool tram 634!
A big thank you to everyone who took part in this photo charter, the lighting
crew for a top job and to the volunteers at Rushden who worked very hard and did
a superb job for us.
